It comes from vivid yellow flowers of rapeseed and turns into an almost peppery-tasting honey It’s honey that’s known for its superior taste and floral, fruity aroma and is also recognised for its low sweetness.
Our current batch has a tinge of sunflowers, giving it slightly darker colour and stronger taste – see pictured jar.
Rapeseed honey’s health benefits
Oganiko rapeseed honey is renowned for its ulcer-treating properties, but also has other therapeutic effects. It’s rich in simple sugars (fructose & glucose) that are necessary for ones daily energy input and contains vitamin E, a family of eight fat-soluble vitamins.. Each tablespoon of rapeseed oil contains 2.44 milligrams of vitamin E; around 10 percent of your recommended daily intake
